The 5 Best Skincare Products to Combat Dry Winter Skin

Hello Glowy Skin!

Are you frustrated with dry skin in the winter? Well, it's not your fault, but the cold air lacks moisture and can make your skin feel tight and sometimes itchy. While staying cozy indoors with central heating or a fireplace, keep your skin extra hydrated because the dry indoor heat is also sucking the moisture out of your skin.

Ideal for all skin types, including if it's dry and sensitive- Cetaphil Hydrating Gentle Cleanser has glycerin, panthenol (Vitamin B5), and niacinamide (Vitamin B3) to hydrate and protect your skin barrier as it cleanses. If your skin feels extra dry, you can gently wipe it off instead of rinsing it, too (but make sure to rinse it if you have makeup on).

Hyaluronic acid is one of the best hydrating ingredients, as it can give your skin an instant glow while making it look plumper and diminishing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. My mom and I love the L'Oréal Paris Revitalift 1.5% Pure Hyaluronic Acid Face Serum because it works instantly to hydrate the skin and make it look better, BUT make sure to apply an emollient moisturizer (like the next product) over as on its own, it can dry your skin out even more if the air is too dry.

Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré is a classic when it comes to the perfect moisturizer when it is cold, indoors or outdoors, or if you have dry skin in general. With over 25,000 reviews on Amazon, this rich cream has shea butter (an emollient to nourish and soften), aloe vera (to soothe), soy proteins (to moisturize), and beeswax (to protect). It can be used on any part of your body and is gentle enough for your face. You can use it at night, too, but wear sunscreen (like the next product) over it during the day.

Just because it's cold and winter doesn't mean you can skip sunscreen, so I love a hydrating sunscreen like Bioré UV Aqua Rich SPF 50 Moisturizing Sunscreen for winter. It has hyaluronic acid to keep your skin hydrated for 8 hours, doesn't feel sticky, won't clog pores, and doesn't have a white caste. This sunscreen is also great for those with oily and acne-prone skin.

What I love about this First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Intense Hydration Cream is that it heals dry, irritated, and even eczema-prone skin in a week because it has colloidal oatmeal to strengthen the skin barrier, shea butter to moisturize and protect and allantoin to soothe skin. It's the perfect recipe before bedtime.

Bonus: If you wake up with extra dry skin in the morning, try sleeping with a humidifier, as it will continue adding moisture to the air and prevent your skin from drying out too much.
